A Shift Away from White
Back to Wood
Natural finishes that mimic the colors of wood are a trend that has already arrived, and in the second half of 2020, it will take hold for good. All shades of wood-like finishes will be in style—from warm to cooler tones, and even raw, natural looks. Distinct wood grain patterns, especially those with strongly visible grain, will also see a rise in popularity.
Wood-colored finishes will often be paired with other color accents—primarily black, gray, and graphite. Gold will also be very popular, especially in muted tones.
Gray Tones Are Still in Style
Gray and graphite are versatile colors that will remain popular. Gray furniture gives an interior a modern and elegant look. Ease of styling is also a major factor—gray pairs perfectly with almost all shades and textures, which is very important because this color looks best when accented with other details, such as those that mimic wood.
Dark, dark, getting darker
Dark wood finishes and deep black—both matte and glossy—such furniture is appearing more and more frequently on the market and is gaining immense popularity. Why? For many of us, dark shades are synonymous with elegance, which we want to bring into our homes. Dark furniture looks great on its own—whether made entirely from a single finish or combined with other details. In this case, contrasts are out of the question. The whole should form a harmonious, cohesive composition.
Pure White on the Decline
One thing we can say with certainty—the dominance of white is over. That doesn’t mean, however, that white will disappear entirely from our interiors. White interiors will always have their admirers, for whom current trends will be of secondary importance. Is that a bad thing? Not at all! The most important thing is to simply feel good in your home!
